Millions of people around the world have benefited through more than 13,000 Foundation grants, which have totaled more than US$1 billion. That number continues to grow in part from gifts from foundations, corporations, governments and non-Lions. However, the vast majority of LCIF’s funding comes through the generous donations from Lions clubs and individual members.

We help Lions serve

LCIF helps Lions improve peoples’ lives around the world, from combating vision problems to responding to major catastrophes to providing valuable life skills to youth. Because LCIF helps Lions carry out large-scale projects through our grant programs, Lions increase their impact in their local and global communities and serve even more people in need around the world.

We form lasting and successful partnerships

LCIF leverages the donations we receive through effective partnerships with other foundations, corporations and governments on the local, national and international level.

We have eight expanding focus areas

To support Lions serving their local and global communities and meeting humanitarian needs, LCIF supports Lions and Leos in the following focus areas:

1. We Give Sight

LCIF is a world leader in the effort to prevent avoidable blindness, and diligently works with Lions clubs and local partners to help provide the local capacity building, training, medications and treatment needed for those with eye diseases and to provide disability rehabilitation and education for all.

2. LCIF Supports Youth

LCIF is committed to providing youth and young adults with opportunities to succeed. The Lions Quest program provides young people and their educators with tools to make positive choices, resist drugs and alcohol, learn through service and become healthy young men and women.

3. We Provide Disaster Relief

When disaster strikes, LCIF responds, providing funding to address preparedness and immediate needs that allow Lions and their partners to be among the first on the scene in the wake of the world’s most devastating hurricanes, earthquakes, floods and other disasters.

4. We Meet Humanitarian Needs

Lions take action in their communities, working face-to-face with the people they serve. LCIF supports the wide variety of humanitarian efforts implemented and coordinated by Lions and give grants to increase their scale and effectiveness.

5. We Support Diabetes Education and Programs

Lions, with the support of Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), are working to reduce the prevalence of diabetes and improve the lives of those living with diabetes.

6. We Support Children Affected By Cancer

Lions and Leos, with the support of Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), provide support for the needs of children and families affected by childhood cancer through impactful service activities.

7. Lions and Leos Are Working To Protect The Environment

We are working with Lions to preserve our planet, knowing that the health of our local communities and environments affects us all. Our goal is to create healthier communities and help establish a sustainable future for generations to come.

8. We Help Provide Healthy Meals For The Hungry

Hunger is a problem without borders. LCIF offers grants, programs and initiatives to help Lions make huge strides in providing meals and nutrition for those in need—in hopes that one day no child will ever have to live without knowing when their next meal will come.

LCIF will continue to work every day to support humanitarian service projects all over the world and give hope to those who need it.
